Resume Worded

Resume Worded is a resume and LinkedIn checker: it scores your resume out of 100 against recruiters' checklists, shows what to fix and can rewrite weak lines for you. It also compares your resume with a job ad, reviews your LinkedIn profile and writes cover letters; it doesn't list jobs.

What can you do with Resume Worded?

Get your resume scored

Upload a resume in English to Score My Resume and you get a score out of 100 against checks such as numbers in your bullet points, weak verbs, filler words, length and sections an ATS may not read, with a “potential” score you could reach. You can fix the resume and score it again as often as you like. The score is Resume Worded's own measure, not something employers' software calculates.

In our check, PDF resumes were rejected because no Experience section was found, and support suggested Word; a Word file went through. On the free account the score came with a couple of things that already work; the full line-by-line report is Pro.

Let AutoFix rewrite it

AutoFix names weak lines and offers to rewrite the whole resume for a 90+ score. On the free account it made two changes: it moved the resume into its own template and rewrote one line, which raised our score by a few points. The finished version downloaded as PDF, Word or plain text. Rewriting the rest needs Pro.

The free rewrite added a number our resume didn't contain (“15+ international markets”); AutoFix said it had estimated it. Check every rewritten line before sending.

Match your resume to a job ad

Targeted Resume compares your resume with a job ad you paste: a relevancy score, the ad's keywords highlighted in both texts and a list of missing keywords with how often each appears. All of that was free in our account. One AI suggestion for working a missing keyword into a line was free too; the rest, and editing your resume on the page, are Pro. The free bullet-point generator gave us two lines that didn't fit our resume.

Improve your LinkedIn profile

LinkedIn Review reads your profile from its link and scores it overall and by section (headline, summary, experience, education). The free account reviews one profile and shows the section scores with short explanations; most detailed checks, the AI coach and the keyword and networking sections are Pro.

Write cover letters

The AI cover letter generator drafts a letter from your resume and the job ad. Resume Worded calls the first letter free, but in our account only its first paragraph was visible, and the Word download contained only that opening; the rest needs Pro.

Before you pay

  • What you're chargedEach period is charged upfront; the 3-month and one-year plans are shown as $33 and $19 a month. In the app the plans carry a crossed-out $75 a month, though we didn't find a $75 monthly plan on the pricing pages we checked; after we had used both the resume and LinkedIn tools a pop-up offered a “personal” 20% off all plans “for the next 75 people only” ($39.20 a month instead of $49), although the help center says there are no further discounts.
  • Free trialNone. Resume Worded's answer is the free account: its Terms say you can try every tool in a limited form before paying.
  • RefundsCheck the free report before you buy: according to the Terms, Resume Worded doesn't refund first-time purchases. If a renewal goes through that you forgot to cancel, you may be offered a voucher, credit or partial refund if you write within 48 hours of the charge and haven't used Pro since; requests are decided case by case. Users report both outcomes: refunds of forgotten renewals, and a refund refused an hour after a first purchase.
  • Renewal and cancellationMonthly and 3-month plans renew until you cancel; you cancel under My Account → Account and Subscription Details, and Pro stays until the paid period ends (help center). The one-year plan is a single payment marked “Non-recurring” in the app, so it ends after a year. Paddle, the payment company, handles orders and refund requests.

What users say

Resume Worded and its newsletter

4.8/ 5 on Trustpilot
  • 3,005 reviews, 165 of them from the past 12 months
  • Many recent 5-star reviews are about the free Coached newsletter, not the resume tools
  • Most recent reviews came through Resume Worded's review link
  • The company replies to almost every negative review

What people like

  • The score and suggestions point to concrete fixes, including matching a job ad
  • More interviews, or a job, after reworking the resume
  • Support refunded renewals people forgot to cancel

What people complain about

  • Feedback that felt generic, inaccurate or not worth the price
  • Cancellation and refunds: “cancel anytime” stops the next charge but doesn't refund, and first purchases aren't refunded

Themes mentioned at least three times in our analysis of Trustpilot reviews from the past 12 months, with the same rules for praise and complaints; reviews of the newsletter aren't counted as product themes. On Reddit we found little recent discussion: one thread from late 2025, with too few first-hand reports to count.

What Resume Worded promises

On its site: “Land 5x more interviews”, “up to 3x more interviews” for resumes scoring 90+, and between 400,000 and 10 million users, depending on the page. A page written for AI assistants (/llm-info) calls it “the most complete” tool of its kind and quotes a 4.9 Trustpilot rating from “over 1,000 reviews”; widgets in the app said 4.9 from 500+ and from 2,500+. We haven't verified any of these.

What information Resume Worded asks for

An email or a Google or Facebook sign-in, your resume, the job ads you compare it with and your LinkedIn profile link for the LinkedIn review. If a university or employer gave you access, its career staff can see what you upload, according to the Terms.

We used a free account with a test resume and a real job ad and read Resume Worded's public pages, Terms, help center and Trustpilot reviews.
