What can you do with Remote OK?

Browse remote jobs by location and category

Every listing names where you can work from: worldwide, a region or named countries; some carry the site's own guess, “Probably worldwide”. You can filter by location, category, salary and benefits and sort by date, pay or popularity, and job pages open without an account. On October 18, 2026, 64 jobs had been posted in the past 30 days; below them the list keeps showing jobs from July and earlier, with no sign of which are still open.

Location filters return what they promise, but category filters mostly don't: a Customer Support search showed a Python teacher, a data scientist and an IT director. Salaries on most listings read “Upgrade to Premium to see salary”.

Apply to jobs

Applying is what you pay for. Without an account, Apply leads to sign-up; in a free account it opens the plans page on every listing we tried, the colour-highlighted promoted ones included. After paying you apply on the employer's own site or by email, as each employer chooses.

Sign-up itself ends on the plans page with no way to close it; leaving the page and reopening the site gives you a free account.

Job alerts

Remote OK's FAQ describes free email alerts for a job category, sent when new jobs appear. The subscription lists instant alerts for new matches and filters by salary, time zone and tech stack. Neither is confirmed.

Get seen first and track applications

The subscription lists a verified badge that puts you first for employers, early access to jobs before they're public, a list of the jobs you've applied to and no ads. How many jobs reach subscribers early isn't shown anywhere.

Free plan & pricing

Browsing is free; applying needs the Only Remote OK subscription. Both plans are 12-month commitments billed monthly, and TopAccess adds We Work Remotely, NoDesk and freelance platforms.

Before you pay

  • What you're chargedBoth plans are a 12-month commitment: $14.95 or $29.95 is the monthly payment, not the price of a month. The plans page shows both side by side with no plan selected and no discount. Remote OK's FAQ also calls Premium “Monthly” and says cancelling stops further charges, but the same FAQ, the plans page and the Terms say 12 months.
  • Free trialNone. The plans page says there is no free trial.
  • Renewal and cancellationAccording to the Terms, you cancel by emailing hello@remoteok.com, and the monthly payments stay due until the 12 months end; access lasts until then. The FAQ points to a self-serve Stripe page instead, which we haven't tried. Remote OK says it reminds you before the yearly renewal, which you can cancel until 11:59 pm Eastern the day before; a failed payment can add a late fee of 10% or $30, whichever is less.
  • RefundsGenerally no. The Terms call the subscription non-refundable except where the law requires it or when Remote OK doesn't provide the service you paid for. Terms updated July 20, 2026, read on October 18, 2026.

Remote OK on Trustpilot

No ratingNo profile
  • Trustpilot removed Remote OK's profile for going against its guidelines, without saying how
  • So there's no Trustpilot rating or reviews to read
  • Remote OK's own pop-up claims “4.8/5 from 10,000+ reviews” without naming where they come from

What job seekers say

Too few reviews to judge. From the past 12 months there are two first-hand comments, both on Reddit: one job seeker says Remote OK wants an expensive subscription just to view and apply to jobs, another that cancelling took an email.

Trustpilot, G2, Product Hunt and SmartCustomer checked on October 18, 2026; Reddit threads collected the same day.

About Remote OK

Remote OK has listed remote jobs since 2015. Its Privacy Policy names We Work Remotely LP of Vancouver, Canada, as the operator; its Terms name only “Remote OK” and follow the laws of Singapore. Employers pay to post jobs, and job seekers pay to apply to them.

Support is by email at hello@remoteok.com; the FAQ covers billing, alerts and deleting your account, which needs any subscription cancelled first.

What Remote OK promises

The plans page counts “100,000+ remote jobs available”, “10,000+ remote-first companies” and “219,850+ job seekers found their remote job”; a pop-up adds “4.8/5 from 10,000+ reviews”. These look like totals since launch: about 60 new jobs a month were posted in the 30 days to October 18, 2026. No method is given for the figures, and we haven't measured them.

What information Remote OK asks for

You sign up with Google or an email address and can build a public profile with your work history and education, which Remote OK shows to employers. The Privacy Policy (updated August 26, 2026) lists contact details, browsing information and country of residence, says data is shared with service providers such as hosting, analytics and resume reviews, and that Remote OK doesn't sell personal information.

We read Remote OK's job list and job pages, plans page, FAQ, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, counted the jobs posted in the past 30 days, looked for reviews on Trustpilot, G2, Product Hunt and SmartCustomer and read three Reddit threads (October 18, 2026). The same day we signed up for a free account, tried Apply on regular and promoted listings and tried category and location filters. We haven't paid for a subscription.
