Final Round AI

Final Round AI is an interview assistant: a Mac and Windows app that listens to a live job interview and suggests answers on your screen, with a Stealth mode designed to hide it from screen sharing. It also offers practice interviews with an AI interviewer, help with coding questions and a written debrief after each session.

Our check: we used a free account on Oct 3 and 9, 2026; practice interviews and the live Copilot need a paid plan and weren't tested. Details
We used a free account on the website and in the Mac app: we set up a goal for a real job posting and opened every practice scenario, each of which led to the paywall. Plans, refunds and data rules come from Final Round AI's help center, refund policy, Terms and Privacy Policy; we bought nothing. Sources and our check

What can you do with Final Round AI?

Get suggested answers during a real interview

The Interview Copilot listens to both sides of a video or phone interview and streams suggested first-person answers into a small window on your screen, which you then say in your own words. Final Round AI lists it for video calls (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams), phone and WhatsApp calls, coding interviews on sites like HackerRank and CoderPad, and recorded one-way interviews such as HireVue.

Stealth mode, on by default, is designed to keep the Copilot window out of screen sharing and recordings; the homepage calls it “100% undetectable”. In our test the Mac app's window didn't appear in screenshots; we haven't checked it in a shared screen. Many employers don't allow outside help in interviews, so check the rules for yours; Final Round AI's help pages don't mention them.

Users repeatedly report that the live suggestions froze, came several seconds late or jumped to a new answer before they had finished reading.

Practise with an AI interviewer

You rehearse out loud with an AI interviewer on video, set up for a specific job you've added as a goal. Each goal has Start Practice, where you choose the session settings and one of 8 scenarios, which Final Round AI lists as General, Coding, System Design, Behavioral, Product Case, Data / ML, Salary Negotiation and Recruiter Screen.

Final Round AI's comparison table lists mock interviews as free, but its own Practice Interview FAQ says the practice rounds are a paid feature. We went through the whole app: every practice scenario opened the paywall with a message that a subscription is required, and the web dashboard's Mock Interview link led to the app download.

Practice is what reviewers praise most often: they say mock interviews feel close to the real thing and helped them prepare.

Get help with coding and system-design questions

During a coding or system-design round, Screen Help reads your screen, automatically or when you press Solve screen, and writes a worked solution in a side panel. It runs inside a live Copilot session, so it needs a plan too.

Read a debrief after each session

After every live or practice session the app writes a debrief automatically. According to Final Round AI, it covers the main moments, the quality of your answers, strengths, gaps and next steps, and saves coding solutions from Screen Help. Weak moments become “re-drill” targets for your next practice session on the same goal.

Prepare for each job you apply to

You add each job as a goal by typing in the position, the company and, optionally, the job description and company details; in our test this worked on the free account. In the library you upload your resume, other materials and a playbook and attach them to goals, so that suggested answers reflect your background. On the free account that's where it stops: we attached a resume, but without a session there's nothing to use it in yet.

Moving from the website to the app

Final Round AI is moving to its desktop app; in October 2026 the older web dashboard showed a notice that it is “being retired soon”, without a date. The two don't share data: resumes and reports from the website stay there and aren't copied to the app (help center). A subscription works in both.

Free plan & pricing

The free account lets you set up a goal for each job, but in our test it couldn't start a practice or live session. Every paid plan unlocks the same sessions; they differ in billing period, and Premium MAX adds premium AI models and faster support.

Before you pay

  • What you're chargedThe app preselects Premium MAX, labelled “Recommended”. The homepage's “$25+/mo” is the yearly plan, charged as $300 upfront. The plan page shows an average per month; the exact charge appears at checkout, which opens in your browser.
  • DiscountsA timed “Interview Offer” is often on screen: 20% off all plans for 24 hours after we signed up on October 3, a homepage pop-up promising “a fresh discount every day”, and 11% off all plans on October 9, both in the app and on the website ($133.50 instead of $150 for a month). The help center says the percentage is an estimate and checkout sets the final price. ·
  • Free trial and refundsNo free trial, and refunds only within 72 hours. The refund policy (updated October 8, 2026) offers a refund if you email hi@finalroundai.com within 72 hours of a first or renewal charge, once per customer, unless you have already had two sessions longer than 30 minutes in that billing period; cancelling doesn't request one by itself. After 72 hours payments are final, except refunds required by law, mistaken or duplicate charges and verified technical problems the company may refund case by case; for card payments through Stripe, unrecovered processing fees are deducted where the law allows. Users repeatedly report refunds refused as “substantial use” and replies only from an AI assistant.
  • Renewal and cancellationPlans renew automatically. You cancel in Settings › Account & Billing › Manage subscription, which opens a billing portal in your browser; according to the help center, the cancellation happens in that portal, not in the app. If you want to delete your account, cancel first: the help center doesn't say whether deleting the account cancels the subscription.

What the rating reflects

Most detailed reviews come from people who paid for the Copilot or practice sessions. Recent 4- and 5-star reviews are mostly short and from late 2025 to mid-2026; the 1-star reviews from June to October 2026 are mostly about billing, refunds and support.

What people like

  • Mock interviews feel close to the real thing and help them prepare
  • Easy to use
  • Live suggestions helped them answer during a real interview

What people complain about

  • Refunds refused within 72 hours for “substantial use”
  • Support answers only through an AI assistant
  • Charged more than expected: a yearly plan instead of “$25 a month”, or a charge instead of a free trial
  • Live suggestions froze, lagged or jumped ahead during interviews

Themes mentioned at least three times in Trustpilot reviews from the past 12 months (4- and 5-star and all reviews) and in Reddit threads such as this one in r/interviews, with the same rules for praise and complaints. Short reviews without detail (“nice”, “good”) weren't counted.

What Final Round AI promises

On its homepage: “10M+ job seekers”, use in “80+ countries”, “143 languages and accents”, and Stealth mode that is “100% invisible. 100% undetectable.” Its footer says it doesn't guarantee job placement. We haven't measured any of these.

Terms that apply

According to its Terms of Use (updated October 8, 2026), subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and disputes go to binding arbitration under Delaware law, except where consumer law gives you other rights. Refunds follow the separate refund policy.

What information Final Round AI asks for

The jobs you are preparing for, any resume or materials you add, and, during sessions, access to your microphone, the call audio and your screen. According to its Privacy Policy (updated October 8, 2026), it collects interview transcripts, the interviewer's questions and your answers and, depending on the features you use, session audio recordings, voice samples and screen captures. It may use selected customer data to train and improve its AI models, including for other users, subject to applicable law and any required consent; questions about this go to hi@finalroundai.com. The policy also says your agreement doesn't give consent on behalf of interviewers. We haven't checked how data is handled in practice. Account deletion is done on the website, according to the help center.

FAQ

Is Final Round AI free?

Only for setup: a free account lets you add a goal for each job and upload your resume and materials, but every practice interview and the live Copilot need a paid plan, and there's no free trial. Final Round AI's comparison table lists mock interviews as free; we went through the app and couldn't find one.

How much does Final Round AI cost?

$150 a month, $250 every 3 months, $300 a year, or $500 a year for Premium MAX, as shown in the app on October 9, 2026. Timed discounts of 11–20% were offered on the days we looked.

Can I get a refund?

Generally only within 72 hours of a charge and before two sessions longer than 30 minutes, according to its refund policy; mistaken charges and refunds required by law are exceptions, and card processing fees may be deducted. Users report refusals.

Can interviewers see Final Round AI?

Final Round AI says Stealth mode is designed to keep the Copilot window out of screen sharing and recordings; we haven't tested it in a shared screen. Check whether your employer's interview rules allow outside help.

Do I need the desktop app?

Yes, for new sessions. The older web dashboard is being retired, and your subscription carries over to the Mac and Windows app.

We used a free account on the website (October 3) and in the Mac app (October 9): sign-up, the subscription page (also from a US address), a goal for a real job posting, the library (we attached a resume to the goal), and every practice scenario, looking for a free mock interview. The Mac app hides its own window from screenshots, so app prices were recorded as text. We haven't paid for a plan, so practice sessions, the live Copilot, Screen Help, debriefs and the Windows app are described from Final Round AI's own pages and user reviews.
